Tom Moore

Born in Alabama in 1951, educated at Sylacauga High School (class of 1969), Huntingdon College (class of 1973, BA in chemistry), and the University of South Carolina (1978 Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry). Faculty positions at Georgia Southern College, 1978-1981; Birmingham-Southern College, 1981-1986; and Winthrop University, 1986-2011. Administrative posts at Winthrop from 2002-2011. Chancellor, USC Upstate, 2011-2016.  Retired in 2017.  Has traveled in China, Russia, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Germany, Canada and across the continental US and Hawaii.  He and Marsha, his wife, live in Spartanburg, SC, and have two sons, Charlie and Kirk, two daughters-in-law, Sara and Andi, and one grandson, Ezra.
